Who is Can Assist

For more than 50 years, Can Assist: Cancer Assistance Network has been caring for country NSW cancer patients and their families through a network of volunteers and members in Branches across rural and regional NSW. As a registered charity, we own and operate two accommodation facilities in NSW.

Coordinated through a central office in Sydney, Can Assist consists of 47 branches across NSW and more than 2000 volunteers who raise funds and provide support to those most in need, in their own communities. Can Assist seeks to remain relevant to persons living with cancer and will seek to change the direction of its services as areas of greater need emerge.

In addition to providing accommodation services and financial assistance, Can Assist provides support for people affected by cancer in their home through our:

VIVA Wellness Programs which provide education, relaxation, recreational and motivational support and Viva Community Care Packages – currently being piloted to help  support people and their families at home during their cancer treatment
